How heritage work is recorded

Traditional buildings deserve a proper record. We photograph the roof as found, document the original construction and detailing before anything is disturbed, sort and record salvaged material, and photograph the completed work detail by detail.

That record supports listed building and conservation area applications, satisfies consent conditions, and gives future custodians of the building an honest account of what was replaced, what was reused and which materials and mortars were specified.
