Non-intrusive roof surveys

Diagnostic-led roof repairs across pitched and flat roofs, prioritising the least intrusive fix and documenting findings.

Symptoms & warning signs

  • Damp patches, staining or blown plaster on top-floor ceilings and chimney breasts
  • Slipped, cracked or missing tiles or slates, or fragments found in the garden after wind
  • Daylight visible through the roof covering when you look up inside the loft
  • Granules or slate debris collecting in the gutters and at the base of downpipes
  • Water tracking down a chimney breast or around a rooflight after driving rain

Inspection & diagnosis

Every quote begins with an inspection. Where a roof is inaccessible, complex or storm-damaged, we can carry out a drone inspection to capture imagery and annotated findings before recommending works.

Traditional British brick chimney stack with hand-dressed lead flashings, lead soakers and terracotta chimney pots.

Typical scope of work

  • Inspection first — the roof is looked at properly before anything is quoted
  • Replacement of slipped, cracked or missing tiles and slates, matched to the existing covering
  • Re-bedding or mechanically re-fixing loose ridge, hip and verge units
  • Repair or replacement of failed flashings, soakers and valley detail where these are the source
  • Localised felt, batten and fixing repairs where the covering is sound but the substrate is not
  • Clearance of debris, site tidy and disposal of removed materials

Timescale

Most localised repairs are completed within a single visit of a few hours to a day, once access and materials are in place. Repairs that need scaffolding, a matched material order or dry weather for bedding work are scheduled — usually within days rather than weeks. Anything found during the repair that changes the scope is reported to you before it is carried out.

Guarantee & aftercare

Completed work is covered by our written workmanship guarantee, issued with the final paperwork. Manufacturer product warranties are passed on to you where the system carries one. We photograph the finished work, leave the site clear, and are contactable if anything needs revisiting.

Project evidence

Every job is photographed before, during and after the work, so you can see what was found, what was done and what it looks like finished — including the parts of the roof you cannot see from the ground. Those photographs are shared with you and, with permission, may be used as a case study.

Before roof repair: a UK clay tiled pitched roof with slipped and cracked tiles, exposed underfelt and moss growth in the tile gaps.
After roof repair: the same clay tiled roof with replacement tiles bedded into even courses, sound underfelt and a straight ridge line.
BeforeAfter
Before and after — slipped and cracked tiles replaced, underfelt made good and courses re-aligned. Illustrative of typical repair work; client project photography will replace this once supplied.
